Supporting science areas

This TEP will train researchers in a variety of technologies needed to support the core technologies educated in the other TEP’s. Most of the technologies require a vacuum environment either to do the surface physics experiment and/or for operation. Moreover, lasers are used in optical metrology as well in surface modification and structuring, hence a practical introduction into laser technology will be provided as well. Furthermore, systems engineering on lithography is acquire a better understanding of the interaction between various sub systems. Knowledge in this area is needed to set and align the research objectives with industry demands.
